October Healed of Cancer Month part 2
HEALED OF CANCER MONTH Week Two — October 21, 2026
Opening declaration and brief recap
Last week, we established Christ’s provision for healing, the children’s bread, the prayer of faith, and the Lord’s benefits and protection. On Sunday, communion directed our faith to His finished work: forgiveness, freedom from the curse, and provision for healing.
Tonight, we strengthen that foundation with five more passages. We believe it is God’s will to heal because of what He has revealed in His Word and in Jesus Christ. We will hear His Word, pray with confidence, and stand together in faith and love.
The seriousness of the disease does not diminish the greatness of our God. Jesus Christ is our Savior and Healer!
1. The Lord reveals Himself as our Healer
Exodus 15:26
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. (Jehovah Rapha, “The Lord Who Heals”)
Our confidence begins with knowing the One to whom we are praying. He has revealed Himself as the Healer!
Confession
“Father, You are the Lord who heals me. I listen to Your Word and yield my life to You. Through Jesus Christ, I come with confidence in Your grace. I believe I receive Your healing, and I thank You for restoring my body!”
2. Jesus reveals His willingness to heal
Mark 1:40–42 — KJV
40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. 42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
You do not have to persuade Jesus to care about your suffering. Come to the Savior whose heart is full of compassion!
Confession
“Lord Jesus, I believe in Your power and Your compassion. I come to You with confidence in Your willingness to heal. Your love reaches me in my need. I believe I receive Your healing, and I thank You for making me whole!”
3. Healing reveals the goodness and power of God
Acts 10:38
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
We can pray boldly for healing because Jesus has already shown us that healing is good!
Confession
“Father, I believe in Your goodness and Your power. Jesus went about doing good and healing the oppressed. In His name, I resist sickness and every work of the enemy. I receive Your healing power and trust You for freedom, strength, and restoration!”
4. God sends His word and heals
Psalm 107:19–22
19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. 20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
Confession
“Father, I call upon You in my trouble. I trust Your Word and Your power to heal. I receive Your healing and deliverance with thanksgiving. I praise You for Your goodness, and I will declare Your wonderful works with rejoicing!”
5. Give the Word your attention and receive its life and health
Proverbs 4:20–23
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Give God’s Word a settled place in your heart. Let His truth shape what you believe, how you pray, and how you live.
Confession
“I give God’s Word my attention. I listen to it, keep it before my eyes, and treasure it in my heart. His words are life to me and health to all my flesh. I receive His truth with faith and obedience, and I trust Him for healing throughout my body!”
Prayer
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. You are the Lord who heals. Thank You for revealing Your goodness through Your Word and through the compassion of our Savior.
We bring before You the women of Journey Church and everyone facing cancer or any other sickness. We ask for complete healing, the removal of cancer, and the restoration of everything disease has damaged. Let Your healing power work throughout their bodies.
Lord Jesus, You reached out in compassion to the man who needed cleansing. We come to You with that same confidence in Your mercy. We believe in Your willingness to heal, and we receive Your gracious provision with thanksgiving.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we speak against cancer, sickness, and disease: Be removed! We resist every destructive work of the enemy. We ask for healthy function, renewed
strength, and complete restoration in these bodies.
Father, establish Your Word deeply in our hearts. Strengthen those who are weary, quiet those who are afraid, and renew the hope of those who have been fighting a long battle. Give wisdom to those providing medical care and strength to everyone receiving treatment or recovering.
Help us stand together with compassion and perseverance. Let no one face this battle alone. Make us faithful to pray, encourage, and provide practical help.
We believe Your Word. We receive with thanksgiving. We praise You for Your goodness and Your wonderful works. All the glory belongs to You. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen!

(Jehovah Rapha, “The Lord Who Heals”)
- God spoke these words to Israel at Marah after delivering them from Egypt. This was a promise to His covenant people that called for listening and obedience.
- Notice how God identifies Himself: “I am the LORD that healeth thee.” Healing is connected to His own character and His care for His people.
- We come to God through Jesus Christ, trusting His grace. We obey Him because we belong to Him; we do not purchase healing with good behavior.
- Cancer does not change who God is. We bring every disease before the Lord who heals.
- This man believed Jesus had the power to heal him. His uncertainty concerned Jesus’ willingness.
- Jesus was moved with compassion. The man’s suffering moved the heart of the Savior, and Jesus reached out and touched him.
- Jesus answered plainly: “I will; be thou clean.” His words revealed His willingness, and the healing demonstrated His power.
- We learn the heart of God by looking at Jesus. His compassion gives us a strong foundation for approaching Him with faith for healing.
- Peter summarized Jesus’ ministry as he preached to Cornelius and his household. Jesus ministered in the power of the Holy Ghost.
- Healing was part of the good Jesus did. God’s power brought relief, restoration, and freedom to suffering people.
- Jesus confronted the devil’s oppression and healed those who were afflicted. This does not mean every sick person is demon-possessed; it reveals Jesus overcoming the power that oppresses people.
- When we pray for healing, we are asking for the goodness and power of God to be displayed in people’s bodies and lives.
- Jesus came to do the will of the Father
- This psalm describes people in desperate trouble who cried out to the Lord. Their distress became the occasion for calling upon His mercy.
- God sent His word and healed them. His command carried the power to accomplish what they could not accomplish for themselves.
- We bring our needs to the God who hears and acts. His Word gives us a foundation for expecting healing and deliverance.
- Thanksgiving is part of our response. We praise His goodness, remember His works, and give Him glory as we continue trusting Him.
Confession
“Father, I call upon You in my trouble. I trust Your Word and Your power to heal. I receive Your healing and deliverance with thanksgiving. I praise You for Your goodness, and I will declare Your wonderful works with rejoicing!”
5. Give the Word your attention and receive its life and health

- A father urges his son to receive and live by godly wisdom. These words connect that wisdom with life and bodily well-being.
- Attend to His words: Give God’s Word your deliberate attention. Make room for it every day.
- Incline your ear: Listen with a willing heart, ready to believe and obey.
- Keep it before your eyes and in your heart: Read it, meditate on it, and allow its truth to shape your thinking.
- Guard your heart: Keep returning to God’s truth when fear presses upon your mind. Receive help and encouragement from people who will stand with you in faith.
- Notice the scope: “health to all their flesh.” We can bring every part of our bodies before God and trust Him for healing and restoration.
Give God’s Word a settled place in your heart. Let His truth shape what you believe, how you pray, and how you live.
