New Members Update

For all New members who have applied for membership:

Dear Journey Church Family,

What an incredible honor it is to write to you—our very first group of official Journey Church membership applicants. As I read through the names on this list, I am filled with emotion.

Many of you have stood with us through years of ministry—some of you from the very beginning. You have seen our highs and lows, our battles and breakthroughs, and yet, you’ve remained. For that, I cannot thank you enough.

This moment is not just administrative—it’s deeply spiritual. It marks the beginning of something powerful and sacred as we step into this new chapter of formal membership, accountability, and alignment. I truly believe we are entering into a season of growth and revival, and I’m so grateful to be walking into it with you by my side.

Shonda and I pray for you daily. You are not just members—you are family. You are the heart and soul of this ministry, and I thank God for each of you.

What’s Next in the Membership Process:

To complete your membership:
1. Please ensure you’ve reviewed the membership expectations posted on our website.
2. Attend a one-hour membership class.
3. (Optional) Have a personal meeting with me.
4. Be officially welcomed on our first Membership Sunday—tentatively set for the first Sunday in December.

If you’ve been part of Journey for several years, a personal meeting with me is not required—but I’d still love the opportunity to sit down with you, pray with you, and thank you personally for your years of faithfulness. For newer members, a brief meeting will be part of the process.

We'll be offering more membership classes on Wednesday nights, and I’m also working on a video version of the class that you can watch at your convenience. Myself or my sister Laine will be reaching out to help you schedule a meeting, if you choose to have one.

Once you’ve completed your class (and optional meeting), we’ll move you forward to be received publicly on Membership Sunday. We plan to continue receiving new members monthly, at least through the initial launch season.

A Few Exciting Updates:
• In January, the current Journey Family page will be replaced with a new Journey Membership Page.
• I also hope to launch online prayer gatherings from time to time (possibly via Zoom).
• And just like we’ve done before, I’ll begin sending occasional personal texts as I pray through the membership list—just one more way for us to stay connected and cover one another in prayer.

Know this: I pray for everyone who walks through the doors of Journey Church. But those who have stepped into covenant membership hold a special place in my heart. You are the backbone of this ministry.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Watch for a follow-up message soon with more instructions.

Shonda and I love you deeply. Thank you again for walking this road with us—and for helping build something strong, Spirit-filled, and lasting.

With love and gratitude,
Pastor Garrick
