October Healed of Cancer Month
HEALED OF CANCER MONTH: Journey Church — Prayer Outline
When it comes to healing, it makes little difference what I think about it or what someone else thinks about it. What matters is what God has said about it. Our faith must rest on His Word.
We discover God’s heart by looking at Jesus—His compassion, His words, and His works. We believe it is God’s will to heal, and we have a biblical foundation for coming to Him with confidence.
We are going to hear His Word, believe His promises, pray in faith, and give Him thanks. We will stand together in love and bring every need before the Lord.
Cancer is serious, but it is not greater than our God. Our confidence is in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer!
1. By His stripes we were healed.
1 Peter 2:24
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Confession:
“Jesus bore my sins in His own body on the tree. By His stripes I was healed. I belong to the Shepherd of my soul, and I trust Him for healing and wholeness in my body!”
Matthew 8:16–17 — KJV
16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Confession:
“Jesus took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. I come to Him with confidence. Lord Jesus, I believe I receive Your healing, and I thank You for Your compassion toward me!”
2. Healing and deliverance are pictured as the children’s bread.
Matthew 15:21–28 — KJV
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Confession:
“I am a child of God through Jesus Christ. I come to my Father with confidence in His love. I receive His gracious provision of healing as a child receives bread from a loving father. Thank You, Father, for caring for me!”
3. Have faith in God, speak to the mountain, and believe you receive.
Mark 11:22–25 — KJV
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Confession:
“My faith is in God. Every mountain of sickness and disease is moving from my life now, in Jesus’ name! I believe I receive healing as I pray. I forgive those who have wronged me, and I walk in love.”
4. Remember and receive the Lord’s benefits.
Psalm 103:1–5 — KJV
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Remember every benefit named here:
Confession:
“Bless the Lord, O my soul! I will remember His benefits. I receive His forgiveness and His healing. He redeems my life from destruction and crowns me with lovingkindness and tender mercies. He satisfies me with good things and renews my strength. Cancer is not beyond the power of my Healer!”
5. Make the Lord your refuge and trust His protection.
Psalm 91:1–16 — KJV
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Confession:
“The Lord is my refuge and my fortress. My God, in You I trust! I look to You for protection over my life and my household. I stand on Your promise that no plague shall come near my dwelling. You hear me when I call, You are with me in trouble, and I trust You for deliverance and a full life.”
Pray for one another.
James 5:14–16 — KJV
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Confession:
“I receive prayer in the name of the Lord. My confidence is in Jesus, who raises up the sick. I believe that prayer makes a difference, and I join my faith with my church family as we trust God for healing!”
Prayer
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We love You, we honor You, and we bless Your holy name. Thank You for Your mercy, Your faithfulness, and Your compassion toward every person here.
We bring before You the women of Journey Church and everyone facing cancer or any other sickness. Father, we ask You for complete healing, restoration, and protection. Let Your healing power work in their bodies.
Lord Jesus, You bore our sins in Your own body on the tree. By Your stripes we were healed. You took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. We place our faith in You and receive with thanksgiving the healing You graciously provide.
Father, we come as Your children to receive the children’s bread. We receive Your provision of healing, and we depend on Your care day by day. Strengthen our bodies, renew our strength, and restore what sickness has damaged.
In obedience to Your Word, we speak to the mountain: Cancer, sickness, and disease, be removed in the name of Jesus Christ! We speak against every cancerous growth and every destructive work of disease. We call for healing, restoration, and healthy function throughout these bodies, in Jesus’ name.
Father, as we pray, we believe that we receive. We release bitterness and resentment. We forgive those who have wronged us, and we ask You to forgive us and cleanse our hearts.
We remember Your benefits. We receive Your forgiveness. We receive Your healing. Redeem our lives from destruction. Crown us with lovingkindness and tender mercies. Satisfy us with good things and renew our strength.
You are our refuge and our fortress. Protect these women and their families from cancer and every form of disease. Keep our households under Your care. Deliver us from danger, quiet our fears, and help us walk in Your wisdom.
As we pray for one another and anoint with oil in Your name, we look to You to raise up the sick. Encourage those who are weary. Surround every person walking through treatment or recovery with strength, wise care, and faithful love. Help us carry one another’s burdens with compassion.
We believe You, Father. We receive with thanksgiving. We expect Your goodness, and we give You all the glory. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen!

- Jesus personally bore our sins in His sacrifice.
- Peter’s immediate emphasis is our deliverance from sin (The curse of sickneww was a result of sin, Jesus broke that curse) and restoration to God. The following passage explicitly connects Jesus’ fulfillment of the prophet’s words with physical healing.
- Jesus ministered both deliverance and physical healing.
- His healing ministry reveals His compassion and fulfills God’s prophetic Word.
- The immediate setting concerns Israel’s covenant privileges and a Gentile mother seeking deliverance for her daughter.
- Jesus pictured the blessing she sought as bread belonging to the children. He honored her faith, and her daughter was made whole.
- As God’s children through Christ, we approach our Father with confidence in His loving provision.
- Place your faith in God.
- Speak to the obstacle with confidence in His power.
- Pray believing that you receive.
- Forgive others as you stand before your Father.
- Forgiveness of all your iniquities.
- Healing of all your diseases.
- Redemption of your life from destruction.
- A crown of lovingkindness and tender mercies.
- Satisfaction with good things.
- Renewal of your strength and vitality.
- Dwell in fellowship with God and make Him your refuge.
- Trust Him for protection from danger, pestilence, and destruction.
- Call upon Him with confidence that He hears.
- Remember His promise to be with you in trouble. His presence and faithfulness remain sure when difficulties come.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
- Ask for prayer.
- Pray and anoint with oil in the Lord’s name.
- Confess wrongdoing and pray for one another.
- Look to the Lord as the One who raises up the sick.
Confession:
“I receive prayer in the name of the Lord. My confidence is in Jesus, who raises up the sick. I believe that prayer makes a difference, and I join my faith with my church family as we trust God for healing!”
