God will finish what he started

In Psalm 138:8, we’re promised that the Lord will perfect what concerns us. The Hebrew word for “perfect” is “gamar,” meaning to complete or bring to full maturity. Philippians 1:6 echoes this truth: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” Even in the midst of trouble, God is actively refining us—maturing our faith, aligning our lives with His purposes. Let’s be encouraged: the God who started the work will never leave it unfinished. His mercy endures forever, and we can trust His perfect timing.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You that You perfect all that concerns us—You complete and mature us. As You promised in Your Word, You will carry on to completion what You’ve begun in us. Encourage our hearts, knowing You finish what You start—for Your glory. Amen.
